About MTEC
Massage Therapy Education Center (MTEC) opened in 2024 to serve the massage education needs of Southeast Texas. The roots of MTEC go back to 2001 when Academy for the Healing Arts; Massage & Bodyworks (AHAMB) was founded by Barbara White. AHAMB closed as a casualty of hurricane Ike in 2008. Since that time, Barbara has operated a national continuing education company called Barbara White Seminars. She has reopened the former massage school as Massage Therapy Education Center to fill a need for a quality Texas state certification training program in Southeast Texas and to continue “raising the standards in massage education”. Our curriculum has been designed to build masterfully skilled therapists in the bodywork fields. We are continually striving to maintain the highest standards in massage education and training.
School Facility
Our facility is located in Beaumont, Texas at 575 North 18th Street, Suite 1, just west of Interstate 10 (off of Calder Avenue & behind Olive Garden). We are properly equipped with massage tables, massage chairs, bolsters, charts, teaching aids, classroom computers, and audio/visual equipment. We have a classroom, which can be partitioned for student practice and Intern massages, as well as three roomy and comfortable treatment rooms for our clients. You will love the relaxing atmosphere. ADA compliant restrooms are available to all clients as needed, and we have plenty of parking.
